ISO 7296-1:1991 establishes general graphic symbols for use on the controls of cranes (section 2) and in- dicates colour for control buttons and signal lamps (section 3).
1.2.1 The symbols shall be as given in clauses 2.1 to 2.3.
1.2.2 Symbols on controls shall have good contrast with their background (preferably light symbols against a dark background).
1.2.3 Symbols shall be located on or adjacent to the control for the function depicted.
