3.20 weathersheds: The extermal part of the termination insulator that protects the core and provides the wetelectrical strength and leakage distance.
3.21 withstand test voltage: The voltage that the device must withstand without fashover, disruptivedischarge, puncture, or other electrical failure when voltage is applied under specifed conditions.
NOTE–For power frequency voltages, the values specifed are RMS yalues and for a specifed time. For lightning orswitc hing impulse voltages, the values specifedare crest values ofa specified wave. For directvoltages, the values spec-ified are average values and for a specified time.
4.Service conditions

For apparatis terminations, the temperature of the mmedum in drect cortact with thetermination (ambient inside enclosure) shal1 not exceed 55 C.The devices designed for thisservice will be connected to the equipment bus which m ay at full load, reach a mmaximurtemperature of 85 C
The altitude shall not exceed 1000 m (3300 f) where atm ospheric air is part of the therm al ordielectric systemn or both
412 System conditions
The nominal power systemn frequency is not less than 48 Hz nor more than 62 Hz.
4.2 Nonstandard service conditions
The following service condtions may require special consideration in design or application of the cableterm inations. and should be called to the attention of the manufacturer.
