DD IEC PAS 61169-4:2006 pdf download Radio-frequency connectors — Part 4: Sectional specification — Radio-frequency coaxial connectors with inner diameter of outer conductor 16 mm (0,63 in) with screw lock — Characteristic impedance 50 ? (type 7-16)
This part of IEC 61169, which is a sectional specification (SS), provides information and rulesfor the preparation of detail specifications (DS) for type 7-16 r.f. coaxial connectors withscrew lock.
The connectors are normally used with 50 Q flexible and semi-rigid r.f. cables for middlepower applications in an operating frequency range up to 7,5 GHz.
it describes the interface dimensions for general-purpose grade 2 connectors, dimensionadetails for standard test connectors, grade 0, together with gauging information and themandatory tests selected from IEC 61169-1 applicable to all DS relating to type 7-16connectors.
This specification indicates the recommended performance characteristics to be consideredwhen writing a DS and covers test schedules and inspection requirements.

3.1 Dimensions – General connectors – Grade 2
3.1 .1 Connector with pin-centre contact
a) A steel test pin (Figure 3) with a diameter a of 5,10/-001 mm (0,2008 0/-0,0004 in) and a0,4 um (16 yin) max. finish shall be inserted once into the centre contact a minimumdistance of 2 mm (0,079 in).
b) A second steel test pin (Figure 3) with a diameter a of 4,96 0/-0,01mm (0,1953 0/0.0004 in)and a 0,4 um (16 in) max. finish shall have a minimum withdrawal force of 6 N after insertioninto the centre contact.
it is recommended that this gauge should have a mass of 600 g
3.2.1.2Outer contact
For non-slotted outer contacts, a stee test ring (Figure 4) with inner diameter a ofa)18,03 0/-001 mm (07098 0/-0,0004 in) and a 4 um (16 in)max. finish shall be pushedover the outer electrical contact of the connector. The force required to push this test ringon to the connector a minimum distance of 8 mm (0,315 in) shall not exceed 40 N.For slotted outer contacts,a steel test ring(Figure 4) with inner diameter a ofb)18,23 +02/0 mm (0,7177 + 0,0008/0 in) and a 0,4 um (16 in) max finish shall beplaced over the outer electrical contact of the connector, The test ring shall uniformly meetthe outer electrical contact when pushed no more than 3 mm (0,12 in) over this contact.
The retention force for the gauge ring shall be 15 N min.
3.3 Dimensions – Standard test connectors – Grade 0
In order to carry out the reflection coefficient measurement according to 9.2.1 of IEC 61 1 69-1 ,the measuring equipment should be provided with the standard test connector. The standard test connector, with the tolerances specified in 3.3.1 and 3.3.2, guarantees an accuracy of characteristic impedance of ±0,075 Ω.
