1 GENERAL DATA
1.1 Scope
(a) This Standard covers the complete general anddimcnsional data for metric 12-spline fange screwsrecognized as American National Standard.
(b) The inclusion of dimensional data in this Standardis not intended to imply that all of the sizes in conjunction with the various options described herein arestock items. Consumers should consult with suppliersconcerning lists of stock production 12-spline flangcscrews.
(c) The wrenching configuration is defined in SAEAS1325.
2 COMPARISON WITH ISO STANDARDS
(a) At this time no ISO standard for spline drivescrews exists, except those for aerospace fastenersincluded in ISO 9254 and ISO 9255. Further, no workwithin ISO is expected for sometime.These splinesare not interchangeable with the aerospace ISO splinedesigns.
(b) Letter symbols designating dimensional characteristics are in accord with those used in ISO standards.except where capitals have been used instead of lowercase letters used in ISO standards.
