5 REQUIREMENTS
5.1 Illustrations
Illustrations shown herein are descriptive, not restric.tive, and are not intended to preclude the manufactureof strippers otherwise in accordance with this Standard.Dimensions are without comfort grips.
5.2Material
Material used in the manufacture of pliers shall besuch as to produce pliers conforming to the requirementsspecified herein.
5.3 Design
Pliers shall be similar to the figure to which referenceis made; shall be proportioned in all parts so as to bcstrong, durable, and easy to operate; and shall conformto the requirements specified herein. Strippers shallremove insulationin aneat and uniform manner withoutdamaging the conductor, with a maximum of 35 Ibfapplied at the point of maximum handle curvature, orat the intended load point if there is no curvature. Pliersshall withstand applicable test procedures withoutcracking or breaking.
