1.0 SCOPE
This standard provides a method for the packaging of items on a cylindrical device in a transparent bag and box.

2.1 General Packaging Standard NAS 850
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1 General
3.1.1 Requirements of General Packaging Standard NAS 850 are a part of this standard except as noted herein.
3.2 Unit Packaging
3.2.1The quantity per unit package shall be as follows unless otherwisespecified by the procurement document:
Multiples of five (5) notto exceed fifty (50)
3.2.2 Package items on a cylindrical core of plastic, fiberboard or metal,orof any combination of these materials.
Retain items on the core by means of a retaining device at each end.One retaining device must be easily removable, while the other may bepermanently attached, or may be an integral part of the core. The retain-ing devices shali be of such size and shape as to prevent contact betweenthe items and interior of the container.
Place the core in a suitable size bag fabricated of transparent plastic.The closure of the bag, envelope, should provide for the protectionintended.
Place the bagged core in a container. Use dunnage if necessary to preventmovement of the core within the container. CAUTION: Do not allow dunnageto contact items.
