Worm-gear drives have been subject of intensive research. Geometry of worm-gear dr ives with ground worm surf aces and worm surfaces generated by blades have been. developed by (Litvin, 1968). (Winter et al, 1981) and (Octrue,1988) have concentrated their
efforts on the determination of contact stresses and fatigue of worm-gear drives that mesh in line contact. The investigation performed by (Bagci, 1987) showed that the real contact stresses for the case of point contact are much higher (up to six times) than for the case of line contact.
