BS/EN 6096-2019 pdf download.Aerospace series – Bearing, spherical plain with selflubricating liner, extra wide inner ring in corrosion resisting steel – Dimensions and loads – Inch series.
This BS/EN 6096 specifies general characteristics of spherical plain bearings in corrosion
resisting steel with self-lubricating liner, extra wide inner ring, inch series.
They are intended for use in fixed or moving parts of the aircraft structure and control mechanisms.

A deviation of a single outside diameter.
4 Requirements
4.1 Configuration, dimensions, tolerances and mass
Configuration, dimensions, tolerances and mass shall be according to Figure 1, Figure 2 and Table 1.
Table 1: dimensions and tolerances are expressed in millimetres (inches).
Figure 1: dimensions and tolerances for Ra max. are expressed in pm (pin).
Values apply after surface treatment.
4.2 Surface roughness
Surface roughness shall be according to Figure 1 and Figure 2.
Values in micrometer (micro inches), apply prior to surface treatment.
4.3 Material
Inner ring: see EN 2030; hardness 55 ≤ I-IRC ≤ 62.
Outer ring: see EN 3161, hardness 28 ≤ HRC ≤ 38; before swaging.
Liner: self-lubricating liner per EN 2755.
4.4 Surface treatment
Surface treatment shall be as defined in chapter 5 (designation) with following codes:
— code T: surface treatment according to ISO 8075 for inner ring before swaging; outer ring: no treatment.
— code P: surface treatment according to ISO 8075 for inner ring before swaging; cadmium plating of outer ring according to EN 2133, 5 pm to 8 pm (200 pin to 300 pin).
4.5 Swaging groove
Swaging groove shall be described In chapter 5 (designation) with following codes:
Without swaging groove code S:
Surface treatment according to ISO 8075 for inner ring before swaging. Cadmium plating of outer ring:
5 pm to 8 pm (200 pin to 300 pin) according to EN 2133 (cylindrical surface area, chamfers and both end surfaces at manufacture’s option), followed by chromating.
With swaging groove code R:
Surface treatment according to ISO 8075 for inner ring before swaging. Cadmium plating of outer ring:
5 pm to 8 pm (200 pin to 300 pin) according to EN 2133 (cylindrical surface area, broken angles and radii, respectively, as well as both end surfaces up to the swaging grooves), followed by chromating.
4.6 Liner technology
Liner technology shall be as defined in chapter 5 (designation) with following codes:
