4.2 Usable dimensions
This applies to the usable dimensions of the product.
The area of the roll is not standardized but shall be declared; the permitted deviation from the declared value shall be not more than ± 3 %.
The nominal width, or useable width for untrimmed wailcoverings, and the nominal length shall be declared; the permitted deviation from the declared values shall be not more than ± 1,5 %.
4.3 Straightness and parallelity of the edges
The straightness and parallelity of the edges shall be measured in accordance with the requirements of Eli 12956.
The edges of the roll shall be straight and parallel over its entire length, with the following tolerances:
— straightness: over any 1 m length, the edges shall not deviate more than 1 mm from straight;
— parallelity: the 3 width measurements taken in accordance with the requirements of EN 12956 shall not differ by more than 1 mm.
5 Adhesion of attached yarns
For a wallcovering with warp- or weft-laid yarns to comply with this document, it shall possess good adhesion of the attached yarns.
Accordingly, the wallcovering, when tested as specified in Annex.B for adhesion of yarns, shall exhibit no visible removal of, or damage to, yarns attached to its front surface.
6 Cleanability
There are no specific requirements for the spongeability or washability of a textile walicovering.
If such attributes are claimed the wallcoverings shall be tested in accordance with the relevant methods
specified in E1fl2951i and marked according to the symbols given in EN 235.
7 Colour fastness to light
7.1 Grades of colour fastness to light of wallcoverings shall be determined in accordance with definitions given in EN23.5.
7.2 The numerical rating for colour fastness to light shall be determined in accordance with the requirements of EN ISO 105-B02:2014 method Al. A wallcovering to this document shall not have a rating of less than 4 (satisfactory).
7.3 The symbols to be used for indicating the grade of colour fastness to light shall be as given in EN 235.
8 Matching, application, removal and miscellaneous symbols
8.1 The symbols indicating pattern matching shall be as given In EN 235.
8.2 The symbols indicating means of application of the adhesive shall be as given in EN 235.
8.3 The symbols indicating the method of removal shall be as given in EN 235.

8.4 The symbol indicating overlapping joins and double cutting shall be as given in EN 235.
9 Marking
9.1 Visible markings
When compliance with this document is claimed, the roll, its packaging or a label inside the packaging of the roll shall state the specific characteristics of the walicovering in such a way that the information below can be read by the purchaser without removing the roll from the packaging:
a) The number of this document, I.e. EN 266:
b) The name or identification mark of manufacturer, supplier, or distributor
c The product description. i.e. ‘Textile wailcovering’ with the composition of textile fibres given as a percentage of the total textile content, and, where appropriate, terms from EN 235:
d) The identification of the product, i.e. pattern identifier, batch identifier,
e) The nominal width and length of the roll;
f) For a textile wallcovering which is claimed to be spongeable or washable, the corresponding symbol from EN 235 should be used;
g) The symbol from EN 235 corresponding to its grade of colour fastness to light;
h) The symbol(s) from EN 235 corresponding to the means of applying the adhesive;
i) The symbol from EN 235 indicating the need for hanging in reverse alternate lengths if this is essential to give a satisfactory appearance.
9.2 Additional markings
If appropriate, the following information shall be given on the roll, on a label or on an information sheet inside the packaging of the roll:
a) The symbol from EN 235 giving additional hanging instructions;
b) The type of adhesive to be used;
c) The weight of the wallcovering, in g/m2
d) The direction for hanging and any additional hanging instructions; e.g. overlap and double cut, using the symbols from EN 235;
e) Design repeat and match, using the appropriate symbol from category 4 of EN 235:2020:
f) Instructions for cleaning, stain removal or fibre restoration (see also Clause 6)
g) Method of removal, using the appropriate symbol from category 6 of EN235i2fl2.Q.
9.3 Marking as heavy duty
If any claim concerning heavy duty performance is made, then the requirements of EN259-1 shall be complied with, in addition to those given in this document.EN 266-2020 pdf download.
