1.2.2 Transducer service transformers
Transducer service transfomners are stepdown ratio tansfoers having cne or mcre secondary windingswith or without center taps. The load impedance may be permitted to vary with fequency or with otherparameters, but the transformer performance is generally based on a specifc load impedance.
1.23 Random noise transformers
Random noise transformers are used in vibration machine applicaticns. They are subject to random signalsof varying amplitude and duration.Response may be expressed in terns cf the fequency spectrum but theamplitude variation allowable over the relevant frequency range is much greater than for aucio frequengtransformers because of the Gaussian distribution of random noise. Random noise transformers are oftenincluded in feedback loops. When included in such a loop, their amplitude and phase response is of interestand all of the problems listed in 9.3 must be solved in additon to producingtransformer capable ofhandling the amplitude of random noise.
124 Modulation transformers
Modulation transformers are used in amplitude modnlated transmitters and may employ a modulationincctor to bypass the fnal amplifier supply current
The transformer is used in a manner which makes it part of a capacitance, resistance, and inductance network, and it must have characteristes whch pemut it to match the network for proper overall performancePhase angle, frequency response, and impedances are important measurements and are required to be makin the actual or substitute network with the major elements in place to establish performarce. Modulaticntransformers are usually designed for specifc applications and large units are not considered suitable foigeneral purpose u.se.
1 .25 Driver transformers
Driver transformers are used to supply power to the contrdl elements cf Class AB, and Class B, amplifieitubes and transistors.
1 .26 Line-match ing tran sformers
Line matching transformers are used where power is received at one impedance level and delivered atanother.
1 .2.7 Load-matching autotransformers
Load matching autotransfomers are used where power is received at one impedance level and provides output tabs at yarious impedances, and vice wersa
1 .28 Control-system transformers
Control system transformers are used in open or closed loop (feedback) control systems. The transformer:used in the closed loop system are subject to signals af a defnite carnier frequency, modulated in accordancwith error signals imposed by the control system requirements. The response cf these transformners to contosignals may be expressed either n ters of frequencyand phase or in Laplace terms. In this standard thephase and amplituce frequency response terms are used
