Scope-This SAE Recommended Practice contains dimensions and tolerances for spindles in the interfacearea. Interfacing components include bearing cones, bearing spacers. and wheel hubs. This document isintended for axles commonly used on Class 7 and 8 commercial vehicles. Included are SAE axleconfigurations FF，R,Nand P.SAE configurations FC, FL, K, L, U, and W are not included, but may beadded in the future.
Purpose–The purpose of this document is to establish dimensional guidelines to promote a functionalstandardization of spindle dimensions for wheel end assemblies. Proper hub component dimensions can thenbe established.
