1.0 SCOPE
This standard provides a method for the packaging in transparent plastic bags with exterior stiffener(s) .
2.0 REFERENCES
2.1 General Packaging Standard NAS 850.
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1 General
3.1.1 Requirements of General Packaging Standard NAS 850 are a part of this standard except as noted herein.
3.2 Unit Packaging
3.2.1Tne quantity per unit package shall be as follows unless otherwisespecified by the procurement document:
One (1) each
3.2.2 Package item in a suitable size bag fabricated of transparent plastic.
The closure of the bag should be by any method that would provide
3.2.3intended protection.
3.2.4The item shall be placed on one piece of stiffener, of sufficientsize, to accommodate the item within the boundaries of the stiffener.Two pieces of stiffener shall be used when the item configuration ormaterial content cannot be adequately protected.
3,2,5Stiffener shall be of a material type adequate to maintain rigidity.
3.2.6 The length of each side of the stiffener shall be approximately one-half inch greater than the dimensions of the.bagged part to which itis attached.
3.3Intermediate Packaging
3,3.1Intermediate packaging shall be in accordance with applicable require-ments of NAS 850
3.4Packing
3.4.1Exterior packing shal] be in accordance with applicable requirementsof NAS 850.
3.5Marking
3.5.1Unit，intermediateand exterior containers shall be marked inaccordance with applicable requirements of NAS 850.
4.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE
4.1 Packages which do not conform his expense.
